Candlelight Vigil for the People of Minneapolis
Indivisible Westside Monroe County is hosting a candlelight vigil for the people of Minneapolis affected by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) operations in their city. The vigil will take place on Wednesday January 28th from 7:00 – 8:00PM at Sagawa Park located at 96 Main Street, Brockport, NY 14420.
Pastor Dan Brockway, who recently returned from a trip to aid protesters in Minneapolis, Rev. Elizabeth Brooks Harden, and other faith leaders from the area will offer words of hope as well as prayers for victims of violence Renee Good and Alex Pretti, the people of Minneapolis, and the immigrant community in general.
Brockport First Baptist Church located next door to the park will be open for warming during the vigil and safety marshals will be present.
